DTE Performance is essentially the rebirth of an organization that was once known as Dynotech Engineering. Dynotech Engineering was founded in Fort Wayne IN approximately nine years ago as a provider of high performance modifications, dynamometer services, and specialized engine tuning with a focus on the Chevrolet Corvette and other GM products utilizing the same engine technologies. Operating initially out of his shop located on Lawrence Drive, the previous owner and his staff were successful in rapidly growing the business and earning the respect within the high performance community.
As the business grew it became apparent that certain components found in the drivetrain of the Corvette were not adequate in design and strength to support the increased demands of the higher horsepower being developed by these modified engines, and many of Dynotech's customers began experiencing premature differential and transmission failures. Dynotech recognizing this as both an issue for their customers and a business opportunity developed and added modified differentials to their core product offerings. These differentials were embraced by the Corvette community and soon became a primary source of sales.
As with most small businesses the economics of the period took their toll and sales began a slow decline. In response to the declining sales Dynotech restructured itself and focused its energies on the differential, differential strut, and Tremac transmission business. In April of 2009 Dynotech moved operations to a Engle Ridge Dr., a facility more suited for it's new product focus. By this time the effects of the economy and the emergence of several new competitors made Dynotech's recovery extremely difficult. Capital was needed to persevere, and was found when two car enthusiasts made an offer to purchase Dynotech Engineering.
In September of 2010 Dale DeRoche and Steve Dager purchased Dynotech Engineering from the previous owner and began immediate actions to restore and rebuild the business. One of the first of these was to relocate to our current location at 2730 Independence Drive. This location is much better suited for the business plan laid out by the new owners. The plan is simple: restore Dynotech Engineering to a full service performance shop dedicated not only to Corvettes, but the overall performance industry with a focus on the entire powertrain. The second phase was to rebrand and reintroduce the organization to the entire community as DTE Performance with the expanded services now being offered. It is DTE Performance's strategy to continue to develop exciting solutions to our industry, expand our services, and focus on addressing the needs of our customers - so please check back often and pay us visit at any time and share in the excitement of success and growth.
